Growing up, my mom was always baking something. She mostly made cookies, but I always LOVED when she made Apple Crisp! MMMMMM! There’s nothing like that warm apple goodness with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! I just recently got the recipe that she would use and on a whim while at the grocery store decided to pick up what we needed. One thing I didn’t know is that it is very easy to make. I only had to buy apples and butter… and ice cream!
This is literally all you need! So easy!
- 4 cups sliced and peeled tart apples (About 4 medium)
- 2/3 to 3/4 cup brown sugar (Packed)
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease square pan, 8x8x2 inches. Place apple slices in pan. Thoroughly mix remaining ingredients, sprinkle over apples.
Bake 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm and, if desired, with whipped cream or ice cream.
Makes 6 servings.
